ESTORIL CONFERENCES WITH TEN NEW CONFIRMATIONS

John Brandt Brodersen (Danish doctor and researcher), Leonardo Lotto (European election candidate, decorated with the honour of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic), Nikolaj Malchow-Møller (former President of Copenhagen Business School and current Head of People & Purpose at Deloitte Denmark) e Meghan Sapp (co-leader of the Savory Network Hub del Norte and founding farmer of the European Alliance for Regenerative Agriculture) are four of the most recent confirmed attendees at the 9th edition of the Estoril Conferences.
Alexandra Brandt Ryborg Jønsson, Andre Kalil, Lorraine Ansell, Viviane Naimy, e Sara Ashwin will also join the range of illustrious global leaders who will meet on the 24th and 25th of October at NOVA SBE’s Carcavelos Campus.
Under the motto Time to ReThink, the Estoril Conferences will discuss topics as diverse as sustainability, peace, politics, health, longevity and technology.

Carcavelos, 2nd August 2024 – The Estoril Conferences, internationally renowned as a stage for debate on global issues, have new confirmations for the 9th Edition of the event, which will bring together illustrious world leaders on 24th and 25th October at the Carcavelos Campus. Alexandra Brandt Ryborg Jønsson, Andre Kalil, John Brandt Brodersen, Leonardo Lotto, Lorraine Ansell, Nikolaj Malchow-Møller, Viviane Naimy, Meghan Sapp e Sara Ashwin join the prestigious international speakers already confirmed for the event.

A Danish doctor and researcher specialising in general medicine and public health research, John Brandt Brodersen has over thirty years of clinical experience. He has dedicated himself to medical practice and teaching with a focus on minimising the harm caused by excessive examinations and unnecessary interventions. Multimorbidity (the presence of two or more chronic diseases) is one of the central themes of his work and will be the focus of his talk at this year’s Estoril Conferences.

Joining to reflect on the subject is Lorraine Ansell, diagnosed in 2022 with Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, a genetic condition with no cure that makes her experience first-hand the challenges of living with chronic pain. Lorraine shares her experience in the book The Surrender Agenda e and in the online series Walk of Pain with Lorraine.

Also, on the Health & Longevity pillar, Alexandra Brandt Ryborg Jønsson joins us on stage at the Estoril Conferences for a reflection based on her work as a medical anthropologist and professor at Roskilde University, specialising in health inequalities. In addition, Andre Kalil, doctor, professor, researcher and director of the infectious diseases in transplantation program at the University of Nebraska, will talk about how to strengthen global health security, addressing the management of infectious diseases and intensive care on a global scale. Kalil has led multiple clinical trials in Sepsis, Pneumonia and COVID-19, and has published more than three hundred scientific articles indexed in PubMed.

The event will also feature Leonardo Lotto, the Italian candidate for European elections in 2004 who, after an accident in Australia that left him in a wheelchair, was awarded the honor of the Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, following a speech highlighting the importance of freedom, which caught the attention of the President of Italy. This message of personal transformation and freedom was combined with his interest and experience in the political sphere, which he will also address at the Estoril 2024 Conferences. Also in the academic sphere is Viviane Naimy, Dean of the School of Business and Economics at the University of Notre Dame, whose career has been marked by significant contributions to financial analysis and risk management.

This year’s event has also confirmed the presence of Nikolaj Malchow-Møller, former President of Copenhagen Business School and current Head of People & Purpose at Deloitte Denmark, and Sara Ashwin, Deputy Head of the Department of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Nikolaj brings more than 25 years’ experience in leadership, research and talent development, and Sarah, a career as a sociologist and researcher focusing on labour relations, international labour standards and corporate social responsibility, with several publications in renowned scientific media.

Meghan Sapp closes the list of the most recent confirmations for this year’s Estoril Conferences. Meghan is a professional accredited by the Savory Institute, leader of the Savory Network Hub del Norte and a founding farmer of the European Alliance for Regenerative Agriculture, with more than two decades of dedication to the transition of energy and food systems, topics that will be the focus of her at the 2024 edition of the Estoril Conferences.
