Daniel Traça
Nova SBE

Daniel Traça is the Dean and Professor of Economics at Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) in Lisbon. He is also a Visiting Professor at INSEAD, in France and Singapore, where he was previously an Assistant Professor. He held the Marie et Alain Philippson Chair in Managing for Sustainable Human Development, at the Solvay Business School, in Brussels, where he was Vice-President and Director of the MBA Program.

Daniel was a Visiting Professor in the KDI School of Management and Policy in Seoul, and the Graduate Institute of International Economics, in Geneva. Daniel graduated from Nova SBE and obtained his PhD from Columbia University, New York. He worked as a consultant for the World Bank and the European Commission. He published his scientific research in several leading international academic journals in the field of Globalization and Economic Development.

Carlos Carreiras Municipality of Cascais

Carlos Carreiras has been Mayor of Municipality of Cascais since 2011, winning three elections with an absolute majority and some of the most expressive votes ever in the municipality.

During his terms in office, Carlos Carreiras was Vice President of the Social Democratic Party (2014/2016), President of the social democratic think-tank Instituto Francisco Sá Carneiro (2010/2013) and founder of the Social Democratic Youth.

He is a training manager and, before executive politics, he was a company administrator in the field of FMCG and tourism.

A columnist for the “i” newspaper and author of the book “Com vista para o Atlântico”, Carlos Carreiras was born in 1961 and is the father of five daughters.

Alberto Alemanno

He is an academic, author, commentator, and social & political activist. He’s currently the Jean Monnet Professor of European Union Law and law department head at HEC Paris. Alberto’s scholarship and public interest work centered on how the law may be applied to improve people’s lives.  Alberto is a graduate of Harvard Law School, the College of Europe, and holds a PhD in International Law & Economics from Bocconi University.

The World Economic Forum nominated him Young Global Leader in 2015, and he was elected Ashoka fellow in 2019. His latest book, ‘Lobbying for Change: Find Your Voice to Create a Better Society,’ provides a novel, well-timed analysis and guide to leveling the democratic playing field by empowering ordinary citizens to speak up and inform policy decisions at the local, national, and international level.

André Corrêa d'Almeida

Entrepreneur, development and political economist with 25 years of entrepreneurial, management, academic, and leadership experience with applied programs, teaching, research and consultancy in the US, Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Asia.

Ph.D., M.Sc., is the founding Assistant Director of the Master of Public Administration in Development Practice program at the School of International and Public Affairs and the Earth Institute (EI), Columbia University. Also Adjunct Associate Professor at both SIPA and the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, on urban analytics and public innovation. At SIPA and EI he created the Development Practice Lab for high-potential development practitioners.

Former Senior Advisor to the UN Development Program, Global Futures Group, the New York Academy of Sciences, the Kazakhstani’s Academy of Public Administration, and the Brazilian National Council of Justice. Is currently the Founder of All4Integrity and the #FreeMyCountryFromCorruption movement.

Editor and co-author of the books “Smarter New York City: How City Agencies Innovate” and “Reform of the Parliamentarian System in Portugal: Analyses and Tools for an Urgent Dialogue” with awarded research and a regular contributor to Apolitical, the Huffington Post, The Guardian, Observador and Público.

Anja Ringgren Lovén

She is the founder of Land of Hope, a Danish aid organization leading the fight to save thousands of children from being accused of witchcraft every year in Nigeria. Anja’s face became recognizable worldwide when a photo of her helping a malnourished Nigerian “witch child” went viral on social media in 2016.

The boy she helped is Hope, who lives together with over 70 children at Land of Hope – a loving home for so-called “witch children” who were abandoned. Since 2012, Anja has been building a local network to identify surviving “witch children” and bring them to safety. Land of Hope also works to educate local communities about the falsehoods concerning witchcraft.

António Pedro dos Santos Simões is a global banking executive nominated as CEO of Santander Spain & Regional Head of Europe in June 2021 and a strong advocate of diversity and inclusion. His work experience includes HSBC Group Managing Director in 2016, Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Europe; Chief of Staff to the Group Chief Executive and Group Head of Strategy and Planning. He was also the Chairman of the Practitioner Panel of the FCA, a Partner of McKinsey & Company, and an Associate at Goldman Sachs.

António Simões was born in Portugal, where he graduated in Economics at the Nova SBE. He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia University. Also attended the Global Leadership and Public Policy program at Harvard Kennedy School and the World Economic Forum for Young Global Leaders.

João Vale de Almeida

João Vale de Almeida is Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to the United Kingdom since 2020. He is a senior European Union diplomat whose last postings as Ambassador included the United Nations (2015-2019) and the United States (2010-2014). Previously, served as the Director General for External Relations at the European Commission, where he helped formulate and execute the EU’s foreign policy and played a key role in preparing for the new European External Action Service (EEAS) introduced by the Treaty of Lisbon.

Was also Head of Cabinet (Chief of staff and main adviser) for European Commission President José Manuel Barroso, President’s Personal Representative for the negotiations on the Treaty of Lisbon and the EU’s “Sherpa” for G8 and G20 summits. Was decorated in 2011 by the President of the Republic of Portugal with the Grand Cross of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator.

José Maria del Corral

Theologian and pedagogue Jose Maria del Corral is currently the Global Director of Scholas Occurrentes, appointed by Pope Francis, with whom he has worked for more than thirty years.

Passionate about Education, Jose was the founder of “Schools of Neighbours”, a project born to transform education, redefine the classroom concept, and achieve the students’ integration from different faiths and social levels in Buenos Aires with Archbishop Jorge Bergoglio. In 2013, when Bergoglio was appointed Pope, the project developed globally and became the Pontifical Foundation Scholas Occurrentes.

Today, Scholas is present in 5 continents, integrating more than 400,000 educational institutions and reaching more than one million children and young people through pedagogical programs carried out through sports, arts, and technology.

Luís Amado

Chairman of the general and supervisory board of EDP – Energias De Portugal.

He graduated in Economics and has been a member of the Republic’s Assembly, Secretary of State, Internal Administration, Foreign Affairs & Cooperation, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Foreign Affairs. He was a visiting professor at the University of Georgetown and Paris School of International Affairs and guest teacher of Instituto Superior of Social and Political Sciences.

Among other functions, integrates Sonae’s global advisory board, is the Chairman of Tabaqueira S.A., curator of the East Foundation, Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation, and a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). He received the great cross of the order of Christ and various awards from foreign governments.

María Ángela Holguín

She was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia from 2010 to 2018, served as the 25th Permanent Representative of Colombia to the United Nations, and as Ambassador of Colombia to Venezuela. Holguín served as Minister of Foreign Affairs for 25 years. Holguín’s ambassadorship in Venezuela was overall seen as the tacit endorsement that enabled her to tackle the diplomatic détente between the sister nations. At the same time, her work with the Development Bank of Latin America signaled the then-president-elect Juan Manual Santos’ desire to strengthen ties with the rest of the continent.

Mário Centeno

Mário Centeno is the Governor of Banco de Portugal since July 2020. He was Minister of Finance of Portugal between 2015-2020 and former president of the Eurogroup and chair of the Board of Governors of the European Stability Mechanism. An experienced economist, Mr. Centeno has held several positions in Banco de Portugal, where he started his career in 1993. He has a strong academic background with a PhD in Economics, from Harvard University. Author and co-author or several scientific publications, books and book chapters related to his areas of interest, such as Labour Economy, Econometrics, Microeconomics and Contract Theory.

Mário David

Mário David is a Portuguese politician, 68 years old, who graduated as a medical doctor. Since 1989 he dedicated his life to European Union politics. He was Secretary General of the Group of European Liberal Democrats and Reformist Party (ELDR) (1994-1996) and Secretary General of the Group of the European People´s Party (EPP) (1997-1999), both at the European Parliament. He worked as a Senior Political Adviser for European Matters to Portuguese Prime Minister José Manuel Barroso (2002-2004) and directed his successful campaign for President of the European Commission. He hold the position of Secretary of State for European Affairs (2004-2005) and he was Member of the Portuguese Parliament (2005-2009). Elected 3 terms (2006-2015) Vice-President of the European People’s Party (EPP) as a candidate for the center-right Portuguese PSD Party. Between 2009 and 2014, he was member of the European Parliament. Since 2015 he is Vice-President of the Centre Democrat International (CDI). Nowadays is mainly active in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans, and is a Senior Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Ministers of Hungary and Slovenia.

Paulo Portas

Paulo Portas served as Portugal’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister (2011-2015) and the Minister of Defense (2002-2005). Portas graduated in Law from the Catholic University of Lisbon and now teaches Geo-economics and International Relations at Nova SBE University, IE, Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, and Emirates Diplomatic Academy (Abu Dhabi).

In 2016, he withdrew from party politics and came back to the private sector. He became the Chairman of the International Strategic Council of Mota-Engil, was a member of the international board of Pemex Gas (Mexico), and Deputy Chairman of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is a founding partner of Vinciamo Consulting, focused on advising business internationalization in Africa, Latin America, GCC, and Asia. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Fundação Champalimaud.

Pia Cayetano

Pia Cayetano is the youngest female elected for the Philippine Senate in 2004. Senator Pia has been a leading voice for health, education, women empowerment, and family welfare in her country and worldwide. Nearly a decade ago, she led the country’s landmark law on reproductive health and family planning, despite strong opposition from conservative groups.

Currently, she is the Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, often described as a ‘game changer’ by business leaders and industry groups. Senator Pia is a strong advocate of sustainable development and strategic foresight. She heads a new committee in the Senate that tracks the country’s progress in the 17 SDGs and mainstreams Futures Thinking as major policy reform.

Rita Faden

President of the Management and Executive Boards of the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD), an institution whose mission is to promote the development of Portugal, the Portuguese, and the Portuguese-descendant communities through a close cooperation with the United States of America, focusing on Science, Education, Culture and Transatlantic Relations.

With a long career in the areas of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Justice, Security and Defence, Rita has taken several leadership roles in the Portuguese Public Administration. She has held several senior positions, including General Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

She was also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Industrial Property and has wide experience as a representative of the Portuguese government and international negotiations within the framework of the European Union and the United Nations. Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister’s Office between 2015 and 2018, she has a degree in Law from the School of Law of the University of Lisbon and a post-graduate degree in European Studies from the Catholic University of Portugal.

Solveigh Hieronimus

Solveigh Hieronimus co-leads McKinsey’s Center for Government (MCG) as Senior Partner in Munich. She serves public sector clients on a broad range of topics, covering education, employment, public health, and public finance, with a special focus on structural reforms and the Future of Work. Solveigh’s main professional interests lie at the heart of the European Union with all its opportunities and current challenges.

She is a Young Global Leader (YGL) at the World Economic Forum and supports European governments and EU institutions on their highest priority topics. Previously, Solveigh held various positions at the United Nations, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan. She studied in Oxford, Madrid, and Paris. She has a master’s degree in Economics, a Diplôme de Grande Ecole from ESCP-EAP European School of Management, and a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from Columbia University in New York.

Xavier Prats Monné

Xavier Prats Monné is the Special Advisor of Teach for All, a global non-profit organization which mission is to expand access and quality in education. He is the Advisor for Strategic Initiatives of the Open University of Catalonia (OUC) and for the Astanor, an impact venture capital investor that focuses on biotechnology and the sustainability of agriculture and food system.

Xavier is also President of the Europe Committee of the King Baudoin Foundation (Belgium) and the Working Group on Health of the Jacques Delors Institute (France). He serves as Chief Advisor to the Board of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (Germany) and as a board member of several non-profit organizations and think tanks.

António Câmara

António is a Professor at Nova University of Lisbon. He was a Visiting Professor at Cornell University (1988-89) and MIT (1998-99). He was a pioneer in Virtual and Augmented Reality, and geographical information infra-structures. António Câmara has more than 200 publications, including the books “Spatial Multimedia and Virtual Reality”, “Environmental Systems”, “Voando com os Pés na Terra” and “O Futuro Inventa-se”. He was the advisor of 32 PhD and 83 Master students.

António Câmara was a co-founder and CEO of YDreams. In 2015, YDreams became a holding of three public companies: YDX Innovations and Ynvisible (Toronto and Frankfurt), and Azorean Aquatic Technologies (Euronext Paris). These companies have developed more than 2000 projects for more than 50 Fortune 500 companies in 30 countries. He received 21 national and international awards, including the Pessoa Award (2006) and one of the EU Entrepreneurs of the Year (2008).

Arie Kacowicz

Arie M. Kacowicz is a Professor Chaim Weizmann Chair in International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. He was the Chair of the Department of International Relations in 2005-2008 and currently is the President of the Israeli Association of Israeli Studies. His research interests include peace studies, international relations of Latin America, globalization & global governance, and the normative dimension of international relations. 

He is the author and editor of ten books, including The Unintended Consequences of Peace: Peaceful Borders and Illicit Transnational Flows (Cambridge University Press, 2021); Globalization and the Distribution of Wealth: The Latin American Experience, 1982-2008 (Cambridge University Press, 2013), Routledge Handbook of Latin American Security (co-edited with David Mares, Routledge 2016), and The Relevance of Regions in a Globalized World: Bridging the Social Sciences – Humanities Gap (co-edited with Galia Press-Barnathan and Ruth Fine, Routledge 2019).

Catherine is a member of France’s Foreign Trade Advisors, coordinating consulting projects for companies and NGOs in areas such as purpose branding and sustainable consumption. Before joining the academic world, she worked for the L’Oréal Group as a Marketing Executive across divisions and countries.

Cátia Batista

Cátia Batista is an Associate Professor of Economics at Nova University Lisbon, where she is also the Founder and Scientific Director of the NOVAFRICA research center. She holds a PhD in Economics from the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago. Batista’s research interests relate to international migration and remittance flows, mobile money, entrepreneurship, technology adoption, education, and policy evaluation. Cátia taught at the University of Chicago, University of Oxford, Trinity College Dublin, and Notre Dame University. She is currently a Research Fellow at the international research centers CReAM (United Kingdom) and IZA (Germany). Previously, Batista worked at the International Monetary Fund and the Portuguese Catholic University and consulted for the World Bank and the International Growth Center.

Claire Bright

Claire Bright is an Assistant Professor in Private Law, the Director of the Nova Centre on Business, Human Rights and the Environment at Nova Law School in Lisbon, and an Associate Research Fellow at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law. She holds a PhD in International Law from the European University Institute, an LL.M in Private International Law and International Commercial Law from La Sorbonne Law School, and a Double Bachelor’s degree in French and English Laws from UPEC.

Claire regularly organizes short courses, events, and training in Business and Human Rights. She acted as a consultant and contributed to various expert studies and policy reports for NGOs, Governments, European and International organizations, including a study for the European Parliament on Access to legal remedies for victims of corporate human rights abuses in third countries.

Dirk van Dierendonck

Dirk van Dierendonck is a Professor of HRM, Leadership, and Management Development at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. His areas of expertise include human resource management, leadership and leadership development, positive organizational scholarship, well-being, and measurement development.

He recently finished a four-year term as Dean of Faculty / Vice-Dean of RSM. He is co-founder of the Erasmus Centre for Leadership.  His work has been published in books and over 70 scholarly articles, including major academic journals.

John Luiz

He is a Professor of International Management at the University of Sussex Business School (UK) and the University of Cape Town (South Africa), specializing in International Business Strategy, Business, Society, Government, Institutions, and Emerging Markets.

Prior he was a Professor at the Wits Business School and Executive Dean in the Faculty of Management at the University of Johannesburg. John has over 150 publications and is the co-author and editor of several books. He is on the Editorial Board of numerous journals. He is active in management training, executive education, and consulting at several leading multinational corporations, public entities, and NGOs.

Júlia Pacheco

Júlia Pacheco is the Associate Dean for Global Affairs and Professor at the business school FGV EAESP, where she pursues research on emerging markets’ economics, monetary economics, international finance, and the Brazilian economy’s development. She obtained her master and doctor title at the Christian Albrecht University of Kiel in Germany.

For several years she worked as a researcher at the OECD Development Centre and the Institute for World Economics in Kiel, Germany. In Brazil, she worked as an equity analyst and fixed-income analyst at the bank BBA, São Paulo. She is also an active member of the CEMS Executive Board, PIM Chair for the Americas Region, and Program Ambassador for the German Chancellor Fellowships at the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. She acted as Chair of the PIM Membership Committee, as Member of the Yale SOM Global Diversity Advisory Council, and as Vice-Chair at the GNAM Steering Committee.

Milton de Sousa

Milton de Sousa is an Associate Professor at Nova SBE and Visiting Professor at KEIO Business School (Tokyo), SASIN (Bangkok), and the American University in Cairo. He was also Associate Dean for Institutional Relations and International Development and Academic Director of CEMS MIM at Nova SBE. Previously, he was Director of the MBA Programs at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in the Netherlands.

Milton founded Leaders2Be, an organization that offers leadership development programs. He worked in various innovation, research, and management positions, including Royal Philips Electronics. As a strategy and management consultant, he worked at Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação and the Hay Group. Milton is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer on leadership and organizational behavior in several universities and business schools, including numerous executive programs with global corporations. His research interests include servant leadership, innovation, and complex adaptive systems.

Nuno Severiano Teixeira

He is a Professor of International Relations at NOVA University – Lisbon and the Portuguese Institute of International Relations Director.  He served as Portugal’s Minister of Interior (2000/2002) and Minister of National Defense (2006/2009). He was also the Director of the National Defense Institute (1996-2000) and Vice-Rector of NOVA University – Lisbon.  

Nuno was a Visiting Professor at Georgetown University (2000 and 2017-2019), Visiting Scholar at the Institute for European studies, University of California, Berkeley (2004), and Senior Visiting Scholar at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies European University Institute – Florence (2010). He extensively published topics such as the History of International Relations and History of European integration, Military History, Security and Defense Studies.

Ricardo Ernst

Ernst holds a Civil Engineering degree from the Universidad Católica Andres Bello and an MBA from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración, both in Venezuela. He received an MA degree and his PhD in Operations Management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In addition to teaching executive education at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business in Washington, D.C., Ernst has taught in numerous global locations on nearly every continent. He is currently the managing director of Georgetown University Latin American Board. He is also the managing director of the Global Business Initiative created to distinguish the McDonough School of Business as the premier destination for global business education.

Ricardo Ernst has taught more than 6,500 executives how to transform the way they conduct business in global markets. He is co-author of the book “Globalization, Competitiveness, and Governability:  The Three Disruptive Forces of Business in the 21st Century” (Palgrave McMillan, 2019).

Aashish Beergi is the Co-founder and CEO of MASH Project Foundation, an award-winning social enterprise that is building an eco-system for young social entrepreneurs in India. He is a Scholar at the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. His social enterprise was conferred with Goalkeepers Global Goals Award by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2020. MASH Project has a presence in India and builds a community for social entrepreneurs through events & workshops, aggregating platforms between mentors and mentees, providing media support to social entrepreneurs, and partnering with other key stakeholders.

Aashish has been a British Council – Global Changemaker (London), Official Indian Delegate to BRICS Youth Summit (Guwahati), UNESCO Youth Forum (Paris), International Youth Forum – (Seliger, Russia).

Ay Young

AY is a producer, singer, songwriter, entertainer, and entrepreneur. He powers his concerts (“The Battery Tour”) using renewable energy. He was recently named a UN Youth Leader for SDGs and performed at President Biden’s inauguration. AY is currently working on a Global Goals album, labeled “Project 17” in collaboration with earth’s biggest artists to create one song for each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Aya Chebbi

Aya Chebbi is a multi-award-winning Pan-African feminist. She rose to prominence as a voice for democracy and shot to global fame as a political blogger during the 2010/2011 Tunisia Revolution.

She received the 2019 Gates Foundation Campaign Award and was named in Forbes’ Africa’s 50 Most Powerful Women and New African Magazine List of 100 Most Influential Africans. Her story and talks have been critically acclaimed by the Guardian, HuffPost, Jeune Afrique, France24, Deutsche Welle, and more. She served as the first-ever African Union Special Envoy on Youth and the youngest diplomat at the African Union Commission Chairperson’s Cabinet.

Currently, João is Director of Sales at HowGood, a New York-based startup helping businesses and brands develop regenerative business models. He was recognized by the World Economic Forum, Virgin Group, Red Cross, Ashoka, and the British Council as a leading young global changemaker. 

Lester Vargas

Lester is a Full Stack Developer, Tech Entrepreneur and Co-Founder of FractalUp, a social learning platform that replaces the traditional educational system by using Artificial Intelligence to create personalized learning paths, fostering new educational trends while re-inventing schools, universities, institutions and corporate training. Recognized as a Forbes 30 under 30 Fellow in Education in 2015, Lester’s work has been recognized with FractalUp by several entities, including MIT and Qatar Foundation for instance.

Linh Do

Linh Do has spent the last decade working across advocacy and engagement, media and social enterprise. Co-founder of the technology start-up OurSay and member of Global Shaper, she is currently the Director, Wattle Fellowship at the University of Melbourne, and a board member at Climate Action Network Australia. Linh was most recently Australia and Pacific lead for The Climate Reality Project, Al Gore’s climate change leadership program. She has worked with a wide array of individuals from high school students to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the Reuters Foundation.

Meg Pagani

Meg is an Italian entrepreneur with 10+ years of experience in technology, sustainability, social innovation, and behavioral change. She lived and traveled across 25+ countries, exploring models of growth, impact, and transformation from different cultures and philosophies.

Nondumiso Hlophe

Hlophe is Director of Global Shapers Community: Mbabane Hub, a registered youth-led Non-Profit Organization in the Kingdom of Eswatini. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science with Honors degree, in Political and International Studies, from Rhodes University. 

Noni was named an inaugural Queen’s Young Leader winner by Queen Elizabeth II and a Commonwealth Young Achiever (2015). She was recognized as a policy influencer on SADC’s Top 100 Youth list (2018) and is an Advisor to the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust. Her areas of interest include education, gender, health, foreign and public policy.

Vitorino Mello Oliveira

Portuguese diplomat at the United Nations in New York. Former diplomatic advisor to the Portuguese Minister of State and Finance and President of the Eurogroup.

As a diplomat, he worked on bilateral relations with EU countries, Brexit, the Paris Agreement , and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. PhD candidate in Economics and Finance and teaching assistant of Sustainable International Business and Geoeconomics & International Relations, at Nova School of Business & Economics, with research and teaching projects in other institutions.

Weza Bombo João

Weza Bombo João is currently building a sustainable goldsmith company with a blockchain tracking system in Switzerland and studies Managing Climate Solutions, International Law (M.A.) and International Management (M.Sc.) at the University of St.Gallen (HSG) in Switzerland.

He is the Founder and Chairman of the Africa Association in Switzerland and won with his team the first Global Leadership Challenge (2020) from the Oxford Character Project, Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund and St.Gallen Symposium.

Since this year, Weza writes a Memoire “The Power of Perspective Taking” about Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and Purpose-driven Leadership, served in Warsaw as a Chairman at the CEMS Climate Policy UNFCCC, simulating the upcoming COP27 and supports the Sustainability Consulting (EYCarbon) department at Ernst and Young, guiding SMEs along their decarbonization journey.

Yasmine Ouirhrane

Yasmine is the founder of We Belong, a platform and podcast that amplifies the voice of the New Daughters of Europe. She is an advocate for Social and Gender Justice in Europe. In 2019, she was recognized as Young European of the Year 2019  by the Schwarzkopf Foundation.

She was named EDD Young Leader by the European Commission, and she is an expert on Peace & Security for the EU and the AU. In this role, she wrote a proposal in tracking basic services in fragile contexts with accessible digital support to feed into peace processes. She is also an award-winning fellow at Women Deliver and a member of the Gender Innovation Agora at UN Women.

Nova SBE Social Consulting

As a student-led consultancy, NSC offers a range of pro-bono advisory services for organisations in the social and environmental sector. Each team of 5 consultants will be dedicated to a client project for the duration of one semester (+/- 12 weeks). We are one of the largests Student Clubs at Nova SBE, the leading Business School in Portugal, with 50+ active Student Consultants, conducting 10+ consulting projects in the Portuguese social sector every semester. At Nova Social Consulting, we build bridges between Portugal’s purpose-driven social sector and the valuable tools, business acumen and insights of leading NOVA SBE students to support our clients and scale their impact in a sustainable way. Nova Junior Consulting (NJC) is Nova School of Business and Economics’ student-run strategy consulting firm. We are Nova’s Junior Enterprise, and belong to the Junior Enterprises Network, a federation of national and international junior entrepreneurs. We specialize in providing strategic, financial and management consulting services by offering our clients the knowledge and skills we develop at Nova SBE. Every semester we work with companies ranging from start-ups to multinational companies and we perform pro-bono projects for NGOs, this allows our members to gain real-world working experience and develop skills which complement what they learn in class. Our members have access to exclusive trainings to develop themselves and a close contact with companies such as Deloitte, McKinsey, Kearney and BCG, where a lot of them are placed at the end of their degrees. Nova Women in Business is an academic club based at Nova School of Business and Economics, that targets the existing gender gap in our society, specifically focusing on the business and academic world. In order to bring awareness and consciousness towards the issue of gender inequality, we engage with the university community by promoting events and discussions surrounding the need for positive change, as well as focus on the personal and professional development of our members.

CEMS Club Lisbon is a networking platform between CEMS Students, CEMS Alumni, Corporate Partners and Academic Members. Its main goal is to combine the academic program with social and professional events, while improving student life and enhancing the relationships between all stakeholders. CEMS Club Lisbon represents all the CEMS students currently studying at NOVA SBE, home and incoming. It is also responsible for organizing several social and cultural activities to strengthen the links between the CEMS Students, the Corporate Partners and Alumni.
