Sources:
Most data used in the infographic were retrieved from the SDG Indicator Database ( unstats.un.org/sdgs/indicators/database/) or from a compilation by the World Bank ( datatopics.worldbank.org/world-development-indicators/).
Population data for the central panel were retrieved from the UN Population Division website (population.un.org/wpp/). Calculations for the population clock were computed by the EC, and they assume a continuous population growth between 2018 and 2019.
The source for sea ice extent data is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the data were retrieved from the University of Colorado FTP site (ftp://sidads.colorado.edu/DATASETS/NOAA/G02135/) Detailed references to indicators and data sources can be found in the EC website estorilconferences.org
