The conference, entitled ‘Climate Change: Preparing for the Future, has a free admittance and will be in English. It will take place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., in Cascais, at the Casa das Histórias Paula Rego and the program is divided into two parts.


The first part, beginning at 10.30 a.m. after a brief introduction made by the Chair of the Estoril Conferences, will focus on the “role of local governments and the strategies to be implemented on climate change.”

Rajendra Pachauri, founder and chief mentor of the Protect Our Planet movement and Nobel Peace prize laureate (2007) while president of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, will be making his intervention on the 2nd panel, beginning at 11.30 a.m., regarding “southern Europe: a hotspot for climate change”.
