During the month of March 2018, applications for the 6th Estoril Global Issues Distinguished Book Prize will open. The award is given, in every edition of the Estoril Conferences, to a major piece of written work that has contributed with new analysis and original thought on the issues inherent to globalization, helping the world better understand its global relevant risks and collective action problems.

For its 6th edition, the award will consist of a 15.000 Euro monetary prize, a book signing session and a public lecture, during the respective Estoril Conferences’ edition.

In 2017, the winner of the Estoril Global Issues Distinguished Book Prize was Joseph Stiglitz, with the book ‘The Euro and its threat to the future of Europe’. Previous winners include works by Francis Fukuyama, Niall Ferguson, Charles Beitz, Muhammad Yunus and Paul Collier.
