Steef van de Velde (1960) has been the Dean of the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University since 2011, and a professor of Operations Management & Technology since 1999.
He conducts research in the area of operations and supply chain management, and his current main interest lies in the area of behavioral operations management, how biases and bounded rationality affect operations management decision making. He has published extensively in leading operations research and operations management journal and in the past served on several editorial boards. Before joining the Rotterdam School of Management in 1997, he worked at the University of Twente (Enschede, The Netherlands), the University of Toronto, and the Center for Mathematics and Computer Science (Amsterdam). 
Steef holds an MSc in Econometrics (Erasmus University) and a PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science (Eindhoven University of Technology). 

In 2013 he was a speaker at the special session "Globalisation and the Future of High Education" (April, 30th).
