An Economy graduate from the University of São Paulo (USP) and with a Ph.D. from the Harvard University, Roberto Macedo was Secretary of Economic Policy of the Ministry of Finance. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Commercial Association of São Paulo, and of the Board of Directors of the ‘Nossa Caixa’ Development, a financial agency of the government of the São Paulo state. He is also advisor to the Faculty of Economics at the ‘Armando Álvares Penteado’ Foundation, a columnist for the newspaper ‘O Estado de São Paulo’, and partner of the consulting companies MGSP and Websetorial. He was a full professor, head of the Economics Department and Director of the Faculty of Economics at USP, president of Eletros, and of Sindigás (National Union of Distributors of Liquefied Petroleum Gas), at the Institute of Applied Economic Research, of the Brazilian federal government.

In 2011, he was a speaker at the panel Globalisation & Domestic Policies (May, 6th).
