Joana Correia da Silva is the coordinator of the Cascais  Council Sustainability Office (Cascais Agenda 21). Previously, she was a project officer at the municipal energy agency (Cascais Energia) which she helped set up in 2007. She worked as press liaison and environmental project manager at the Portuguese-American Development Foundation (1994-98). Joana Correia da Silva has a Master Degree on Environmental Change and Management by the Oxford University and she was a researcher at the Technical University of Lisbon on the areas of education and climate change awareness. She is member of the Cascais Municipal Assembly.

In 2011, she was a speaker at the Estoril Conferences Academy: Ethics and Global Leadership for the XXIst Century (May, 4th).
