Gylfi Zoega is member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Iceland and professor of Economics at the University of Iceland. He also teaches at the Birkbeck College, University of London, and is a foreign member of the Center on Capitalism and Society of the University of Columbia. Previously he was associate editor of the European Economic Review and researcher at the Observatoire Français des Conjonctures Économiques. Gylfi Zoega has written extensively on macroeconomics and labour economics. He has published more than forty articles in journals and book chapters. Zoega is one of the interviewed economists of Inside Job, a powerful documentary movie that provides a comprehensive analysis of the global financial crisis.

In 2011 he was a speaker at the panel "After the crisis?" (May, 5th).
