Duarte Pitta Ferraz is associated professor at NOVA - School of Business and Economics and at Nottingham Business School. He holds positions as NED at EIB – European Investment Bank, Infrastructures of Portugal, and the Privatization Committee of TAP – Air Portugal. Duarte Pitta Ferraz is also a member of the Harvard Business Review advisory board, of McKinsey Quarterly advisory board, and of the Financial Times Feedback Forum.

Professor Pitta Ferraz holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from Nottingham Trent University (UK) and degrees in Law, Management and Accounting from Lisbon University. He is also a qualified Portuguese Statutory Auditor (‘ROC’).

Previously Duarte Pitta Ferraz has worked at the BCP (Portuguese Commercial Bank) as its Managing Director and was a member of several executive committees (international division, investment and corporate banking, retail banking, private banking), as well as the co-CEO of NovaBank Greece and Vice-Chairman of Bank Europa Turkey. 

He has held Non-Executive Director positions at the Global Board and Executive Committee of BAFT – Bankers Association of Finance and Trade (Washington, D.C.) and was the co-Chairman for Europe, at SOFID – EDFI Development Bank and Banco Millennium Angola. He has also been a member of the Privatization Committee of CTT – Portugal Postal Service, and Vice-Chairman of the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce. Duarte Pitta Ferraz has chaired and has been a member of several audit committees. He has worked in auditing at Deloitte and Philip Morris North America for 13 years.
