Ana Rita Gil is a researcher who has received her PhD degree at the Faculty of Law of Nova de Lisboa University, defending her dissertation on the Human Rights of Immigrants. She is the author of the book - Immigration and Human Rights - published in 2017, along with many other scientific articles and opinions about Human Rights, Immigration and Asylum.

Ana Rita Gil has collaborated in various projects for the European Commission, through Milieu, Law and Policy Consulting, Lda., and Ramboll, as well as by the academic network as the Odysseus (academic network for legal studies on immigration and asylum in Europe), ChildNet (international academic network of law application on childhood and children’s rights) and the European Network of Free Movement of Workers. Rita Gil is a national rapporteur at the European Monitoring of Citizenship, which is coordinated by EUDO, a member of the OMNIA project - Odysseus Monnet Network for Immigration and Asylum.
