Professor Grobbee has been a principal investigator in many large scale epidemiologic studies and randomized trials of drug and dietary interventions for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. His experience covers the full range of epidemiologic study designs including clinical trials, cohorts and case-control studies. He has been teaching in Europe, the US, Asian and African countries and supervised over 120 PhD fellows. As CSO of Julius Clinical Research, an Academic Research Organization affiliated with the University Medical Center Utrecht, he directs late phase clinical trials in cardiovascular/metabolic and infectious diseases in over 30 countries.
