Nobel Peace Prize

Mohamed ElBaradei was Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) between 1997 and 2009. During his tenure, he pioneered measures to strengthen the non-proliferation regime and was a staunch advocate of nuclear disarmament. Drawing on his career as a diplomat, international civil servant and scholar, Mohamed ElBaradei lectures widely in the fields of global security, the peaceful use of nuclear energy, nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, international organizations and international law. He belongs to a number of professional associations and has received multiple awards for his work.
