Francis Fukuyama is Senior Fellow at Stanford University's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies. He was Professor of International Political Economy at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University and was a member of the Policy Planning Staff of the U.S. Department of State, specializing first in Middle East affairs and then as Deputy Director for European political-military affairs. Francis Fukuyama is one of the world's most prominent experts on democracy, development and governance. He is chairman of the editorial board of The American Interest and member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
