Madrid Bureau Chief for the Financial Times

Victor Mallet is a journalist, commentator and author with over two decades of experience in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. He is currently the Madrid bureau chief for the Financial Times, based in Spain, where he writes on Spanish, European and Mediterranean affairs. In Asia, he twice won the Society of Publishers in Asia award for opinion writing.
His highly praised book on the south-east Asian industrial revolution and the 1997-98 Asian financial crisis, The Trouble with Tigers (HarperCollins), was first published in 1999.
