Founder and Head of the Ravand Institute for Economic and International Studies

Seyed Hossein Adeli is the founder and head of the Ravand Institute for Economic and International Studies in Teheran. He was an advisor to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Iranian Ambassador to Japan, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Between 1984 and 1985 he also acted as senior advisor to Iran’s Minister of Oil, representing Iran at various OPEC meetings. He was then the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran from 1989 to 1994, and Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs between 1999 and 2004. Besides his government posts, he has taught at various universities, has published many books and academic articles and has received several awards from international foundations.
