Professor of Economics and Finance at Columbia University

Joseph Stiglitz is Professor of Economics and Finance at Columbia University. During the Clinton administration he was a member of the Council of Economic Advisors from 1993-95 and its Chairman from 1995-97. He then became Chief Economist and Senior Vice-President of the World Bank between 1997 and 2000. His recent appointments include: Co-founder and President of the Initiative for Policy Dialogue, President Elect of the International Economic Association and Chair of the Commission of Experts of the President of the UN General Assembly on Reforms of the International Monetary and Financial System.
